A natural approach to lip filler

The goal is lips that look like yours on a good day: a clearer border, a little more shape and hydration, and better balance between the upper and lower lip. Koral works in small amounts and builds gradually, because adding a little more at a later visit is easy, and an overfilled lip is not the look anyone comes in for.

What lip filler costs

Lip filler is $350 at KM RX Aesthetics, the same price as on Booksy. The consultation is part of the appointment and the two-week follow-up is free. If you only want the upper lip to show a little more, a lip flip is $50, or free with 30 or 50 units of Botox.

What to expect

Most fillers contain lidocaine and numbing cream is available, so the appointment is comfortable for most people. You will see the change straight away. Swelling is normal and usually most noticeable for the first day or two, and the final shape settles within about two weeks, which is when your follow-up is.

How long lip filler lasts

Often six to twelve months. Lips move constantly, so filler there tends to last less time than in the cheeks or chin. Hyaluronic acid breaks down naturally over time, and it can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if ever needed.

Aftercare

• Skip strenuous exercise, heat and alcohol for 24 to 48 hours
• Sleep slightly elevated the first night to reduce swelling
• Do not press on or massage the area unless Koral asks you to
• Cool compresses help with swelling; arnica can help with bruising
